Geshe Lhundub Sopa was a scholar of Buddhist Philosophy who the Deer Park Buddhist Center.

When Geshe Sopa was growing up in Tibet, he learned the teachings of the Buddha and dreamed of becoming a Buddhist monk. With support, he achieved his goal, but invading Chinese troops forced him and many other Tibetans to leave their home. A renowned scholar of Buddhist Philosophy, he came to UW–Madison to teach and founded the Deer Park Buddhist Center in Oregon, WI.
