To find the wreck of the Indianapolis, state of the art technology will be needed.
The USS Indianapolis sank in the deepest ocean on the planet. To have any chance of finding the wreck, the R/V Petrel will need to use two pieces of state of the art technology to search those crushing depths – an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle will survey the seabed floor, and a Remotely Operated Vehicle equipped with a high definition camera will inspect objects identified by the AUV.
