Caitlin Pepperell, an associate professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at UW-Madison, focuses on Staphylococcus saprophyticus, a common cause of urinary tract infections. The bacterium is found in animals and humans and is capable of moving between natural and man-made environments.
