A Tibetan refugee finds a sense of community at the Deer Park Buddhist Center.

Tenzin Pelkyi grew up in a Tibetan refugee settlement in northern India. When Tenzin was only 7 years old her mother made the heart-breaking decision to move to America for employment. At the age of 16 Tenzin's father decided to send her to Madison to be with her mother, once again tearing the family apart. But Tenzin found a sense of community near Madison at the Deer Park Buddhist Center.
