Hi.
I'm medical student Olivia maniac with a very disturbing fact.
More than 1 in 3 of us have prediabetes, a condition in which our blood sugar is elevated and on its way to qualify as type two diabetes and type two diabetes.
Our body stops responding to insulin, a hormone that helps store sugar for energy.
Type two diabete greatly increases health risks like stroke, heart attack, and kidney failure.
So how to prevent or even reverse prediabetes?
Simple daily exercise and a healthy diet 30 plus minutes of moderate daily movement like brisk walking combined with a healthy diet such as the Mediterranean diet, lowers blood sugar by reversing prediabetes, our risk of developing type two diabetes is cut in half.
