Juneau County: The Drainage Dream

As the American frontier came to an end, settlers looked toward the wetlands in northern Juneau County. Drainage of the land for farming proved disastrous, and eventually the federal government stepped in—resettling farm families and establishing the Necedah Wildlife Refuge.
