Retired agriculture instructor Don Hawkins builds a legacy through his oak tree savannas.

Although he has been retired from his job as a high school agriculture instructor for over 17 years, Don Hawkins continues his work by creating protected "oak savannas." These areas are maintained by volunteers, students and Don himself, who remove invasive species and replace them with local grasses and prairie plants.
