New equipment and mechanical updates are a key part of keeping the Badger Ferry sailing across Lake Michigan. In an effort to provide a cleaner, more environmentally friendly ride, a new ash-retention system has been installed—the first installation of its kind on a ship—ending the discharge of ash by the first day of sailing in 2015.
