Cullberg Ballet was founded by Birgit Cullberg in 1967 under the auspices of Riksteatern.
The innovative ballet is an adaptation of the work by 17th Century French playwright Moliere, "School for WIves" is the story of an aging bachelor who keeps an d trains a young women as his ward. The ensuing pursuit of the old man and his young lovers creates the tension that appealed to Cullberg when she created her ballet.
